 Power Ranger Interesting Facts

I am a member of several Power Ranger forums and on one of them we decided to come up with a list of 500 facts! Amazingly we found more than that. Eventually I hope to give people a choice of seeing it by season, character, actor and villain and also submitting their own facts. But for now here is the whole list to look at.

  • So far, Tommy Oliver has met every Red Ranger up to Jack. He met Jason, Rocky and TJ as a Ranger, Andros-Cole in Forever Red, and Shane, Jack and Conner as Black Dino Ranger.
  • The character that was featured in most PR episodes was Bulk, followed closely by Skull.
  • However, the Ranger that was featured in most episodes is Tommy Oliver, 2nd would be Adam, and 3rd is Billy.
  • No matter how many times you morph in front of your enemies...They will always wait until your song and dance is complete, then try and wipe the floor with you...
  • PRDT and R.P.M. are the only Power Rangers themes so far not to have the word Go in it.
  • Billy/David Yost is the only Power Ranger to have appeared in all 155 episodes of MMPR.
  • The first Ranger to have a focus episode was Trini.
  • The first Ranger to destroy a monster of the week was Trini.
  • The first Ranger to face her fears and overcome them was Trini.
  • The very first ranger we see is Kimberly. (not including the opening credits)
  • The First ranger's name we ever hear is Zack.
  • The first 3 rangers to be replaced were Jason, Trini and Zack.
  • The first character to play 2 rangers was Tommy.
  • The only yellow ranger that's Asian is Trini.
  • Katherine was the longest running pink ranger.
  • Dragonzord Battle Mode was the First sixth ranger zord combination.
  • Tori is the first female blue ranger.
  • Tideus is the first male yellow ranger.
  • The youngest "official" ranger was Justin.
  • Tommy holds the record for being a returning Ranger: first was in Doomsday, second was in The Return of An Old Friend, third was in White Light, fourth was in Forever Red and then fifth came in Day of the Dino.
  • The Blue MMPR Ranger was the only (regular) Ranger who wasn’t replaced mid-season.
  • Bridge always wore gloves.
  • The only zord that never fought was Artillatron.
  • Artillatron was never named on screen, its name came from the toy line.
  • Andros was the first ranger to have a battlizer.
  • Billy is the only original MMPR to never have another family member (besides a parent) appear on the show. (Kim, Trini, Zack and Jason all had cousins appear, and Tommy had a brother).
  • The 'Original Colors' of MMPR featured Red, Blue, Black, Yellow, Pink, and Green Rangers. This exact combination is repeated in Turbo and Lost Galaxy if you count the Phantom Ranger and the Magna Defender.
  • Mighty Morphin Season 2 is the only season where a ranger is two different colors.
  • PRMF is the first Power Rangers' season to feature capes as a standard part of every Ranger's uniform
  • Madison Rocca is the second female Blue Ranger in Power Rangers' history.
  • The first African-American Ranger to lead a team was Theodore Jay Jarvis "T.J." Johnson in Turbo. He would be followed by Jack in SPD and Scott in RPM.
  • Although part of the A-Squad Rangers who are never actually seen in battle, Charlie of SPD is the first female Red Ranger in history.
  • SPD is the first series to feature Evil Rangers who weren't created or brainwashed by the villains. The A-Squad Rangers went bad of their own accord.
  • Power Rangers: S.P.D. features the greatest number of Rangers EVER in one season, clocking in with 14!!! (5 A-Squad Rangers, 5 B-Squad Rangers and 4 -special- Rangers in the guise of Doggie as the Shadow Ranger, Kat Manx as the one-time-only Kat Ranger, Sam as the Omega Ranger, and briefly the Nova Ranger)
  • Power Rangers: S.P.D. actually could have had 15 Rangers, but since it didn't feature DekaGold (a ranger seen in the original Super Sentai series) it ended with (the still record-breaking) 14.
  • Kai of PR lost galaxy was the first male blue ranger to have powers of water.
  • So far, the only Rangers to be able to use their "special powers" in both morphed and unmorphed form are the NS Rangers and the MF Rangers.
  • Every time there was a passing of suits in the Zordon Era, there has been a change in colors, except for the move between Zeo and Turbo.
  • The only Rangers to have an identical name are Kat from MMPR-PRT, and Kat from PRSPD.
  • SPD and RPM are the only series to be referred to on-screen by their initials.
  • Bridge is the 2nd green ranger to have psychic power,
  • Delphine ,an alien ranger, was the first female white ranger.
  • Jetman was supposedly to become the first MMPR series, however the pilot episode didn't quite fly with test audiences. So Saban attempted to use ZyuRanger footage that turned out to be a success, partly due to the popularity of Dinosaurs during the early 90's.
  • Wild Force was the second season after Time Force to utilize the "Red Rookie" plot device. The third was in Power Rangers: S.P.D. and the fourth was in Power Rangers: Mystic Force.
  • Mystic Force is the third series to have a female mentor, following after Princess Shayla from Wild Force and Dimitria from Power Rangers: Turbo.
  • Peta Rutter (Udonna) is the oldest person in history to play the role of a Ranger. All Rangers are normally played by teens (the actress who plays Vida is actually 19!) or adults no older than 31, with the exception of Jim Gray, who was 38 when he played Tideus in Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers.
  • Mystic Force is the third season where a Power Ranger (Vida, the Pink Mystic Force Ranger) has been turned into a vampire. The first was in the Power Rangers: Zeo episode "It Came From Angel Grove" when Tommy (albeit in a dream sequence of Adam's) portrayed a horror movie vampire, the second was in the Power Rangers: Turbo episode "Carlos and the Count' where Carlos was bitten and transformed into a vampire.
  • Due to the fact that in Japanese children's programming, guidelines are much more lenient than those of the United States, Magiranger's villainess, Vancuria (known in America as "Necrolai" ), was able to have a rather revealing costume with realistic breasts. Due to this, Disney never shows close-up, full body images of Necrolai from the borrowed footage, and instead zooms in on her face and avoids showing her chest area as many times as possible. In scenes with Necrolai filmed for the American audience, the revealing costume is replaced with a full black bodysuit underneath.
  • In the episode "Long Ago", the Mystic Rangers' magic book, the Xenotome, protected itself from evil, much like the Book of Shadows from Charmed.
  • Dino Thunder was not afraid to admit its campiness and poke fun at itself, owing partly to the fact that Jason David Frank is somewhat of an homage to days gone by in the series. In one episode, after Tommy receives his powers (again), he mentions he needs to go shopping. When asked why, he says that he doesn't have enough black clothes in his closet; this is the first outright reference to the fact that since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, all Rangers have dressed in casual clothes with some degree of their Ranger color on it. Also, the Red and Blue Rangers have similar helmet and Zord designs to the tyrannosaurus and triceratops Zords of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The only major difference is the Yellow Ranger's costume and Zord. One with a careful eye will notice that the first two episodes, "Day of the Dino, Parts 1 and 2" are rife with obvious references to the first MMPR episode "Day of the Dumpster". C'mon...look at the title!
  • Dino Thunder was the second season to feature Rangers who became Rangers unintentionally or accidentally and were not chosen by an individual or individuals, (excluding Leo from Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy and Cole from Power Rangers: Wild Force whose destiny it was, apparently, to become the Red Rangers of their respective teams). Unlike seasons past, the Dino Gems sought out who they wanted to have their powers, an individual could not control whether or not they were chosen to become a Ranger, hence why the teens (and Dr. Oliver) became Rangers: the Dino Gems bonded to their genes.
  • Dino Thunder hosted the one of the biggest milestone episodes in Power Ranger history: "Legacy of Power", the 500th episode of the series as a whole. It was a clip show featuring clips of every PR incarnation (except the brief stint when the Alien Rangers took over between Mighty Morphin' and Zeo). The MMAR, Blue Senturion, Phantom Ranger and Magna Defender didn't appear, neither did Joel Rawlings and Cole Evans unmorphed.
  • Jen makes a Power Ranger first, by using the word 'death' when talking about her true love Alex: "I won't let his death be in vain!"
  • Power Rangers: Time Force is noted for being the first series not to "destroy" it's monsters, but rather "capture" them in containers, considering that they weren't actually 'evil'. This method would be repeated in Power Rangers: S.P.D., where monsters, as alien criminals, are "contained" in cards rather than destroyed.
  • Time Force was the last Power Ranger series (to date) to feature a Yellow Ranger who was both African-American and a woman, i.e. Katie.
  • Zeo is notable for featuring villains who were entirely mechanical and depended on artificial intelligence, villains of all other series have been of organic substances and/or humanoid in appearance.
  • Zeo was the first series to feature a child villain (Prince Sprocket), this would be repeated in Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue with Impus (although later in the series he matures into an adult form, Olympius), Power Rangers: S.P.D. with the introduction of Mora.
  • In the Power Rangers: Turbo episode "Fire in Your Tank", some of the other monsters seen at Divatox's boot camp were either repainted, altered, or hybrid costumes. Among those are a de-petaled Bloom of Doom (from season 2's "Bloom of Doom"), a black painted, hornless, and fur-added Robogoat (from season 2's "The Green Dream"), a blue painted, altered Pirantishead (from season 2's "The Mutiny" trilogy) with the hair of the Hate Master (from season 3's "Stop the Hate Master" two parter), Hate Master's body with the head of a Kakuranger monster Karakasa, an orange and blue repainted body of Cruel Chrome (from PRZ's "Where In The World Is Zeo Ranger 5?") with the head of Main Drain (from PRZ's "Inner Spirit"), Cruel Chrome's head on a silver painted body of Mean Screen (from PRZ's "Mean Screen"), an odd repainted, and altered Fighting Flea (from season 1's "To Flea or Not to Flee"), a caped, stinger-mouthed, repainted and de-shelled Turbanshell (from season 2's "Green No More" two parter), a repainted Kakuranger monster Keukegen (the furry one from the background in "Alien Rangers of Aquitar" two parter) with parts of Cruel Chrome, and the unnamed black and white leathered, octopus-headed female Kakuranger monster Rokurokubi (from the crowd in PRZ's "King for a Day" two parter without the octopus head) now with antlers.
  • In Magiranger, Vancuria (Necrolai) had the ability to split into two girls called Nai & Mea, that ability was scrapped in Mystic Force.
  • Most seasons (excluding PRZ and Samurai) had a female villain that wasn't covered in a full costume, and rather looked human.
  • Brad Hawkins was due to play the Gold Ranger.
  • In MMPR there were 2 versions of Day of the Dumpster.
  • Lightspeed Rescue is the first Power Rangers' series to feature the concept of 'man-made' powers created for the use of a specific organization. This trend would be repeated with Time Force,  S.P.D. and RPM.
  • Udonna is the third female White Ranger in history. She succeeds Delphine, the leader of the Aquitian Rangers (AKA the Alien Rangers) and Alyssa Enrilé, the Wild Force White Tiger Ranger.
  • There has never been a case in which more than one person shared a Blue Ranger suit.
  • The Time Force Rangers are so far the only Rangers not to carry their sidearm’s on their body. They would summon the Chromo Blasters when needed.
  • S.P.D. is the only known generation to have all their episodes be singular words. This is an in-joke by producer Bruce Kalish as he had previously worked on Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, a fantasy series on Discovery Kids which also consisted of one word titles.
  • Similarly, the following Power Rangers series, Power Rangers: Mystic Force, has episodes with two-word-only titles.
  • Jungle Fury is the third Power Rangers team not to feature an African American Ranger; the first was Ninja Storm, followed by Mystic Force.
  • Mystic Force is the first incarnation of the series where the rangers actually become their zords, the Mystic Titans, rather than summon them.
  • There have been several humorous instances in which actors in the Power Ranger's universe have explained their multiple appearances. Two most memorable of these is during the "Legacy Of Power" episode of Dino Thunder where Connor reveals he has an identical twin brother who is a ninja. (Remember seeing him on the NS finale?) The second, again during Dino Thunder, is when Katrina Devine (who portrayed Marah in Power Rangers: Ninja Storm) appears in Dino Thunder as Cassidy Cornell, making her the first Power Rangers actor to play two different characters full-time. An interesting joke is made at the end of the 2-part Ninja Storm crossover Thunder Storm where Cassidy and Marah bump into each other and both secretly remark "Did you see that girl? She was so stunning! But I am SO much prettier!"
  • Cassidy Cornell and her assistant/best friend Devin Del Valle had a pension for wearing the same color all of the time (a la, the usual way a Power Ranger did). Towards the middle of the season, with Cassidy, it was always blue. Towards the end, it was pink with Cassidy and green with Devin. Perhaps this was a prod at the fans, considering there was no usual 6th Ranger that season, or even any powerful allies (unless you count the Ninja Storm and SPD teams).
  • There has never been an African-American pink ranger.
  • Jack is the third male ranger to have long hair...first Tommy second Andros..
  • Syd's power of turning her hands into any element is the first one.
  • The episode "Diffrent Drum" was named after the song "Different Drum" which was performed by Linda Ronstadt and written by Mike Nesmith of the Monkees.
  • Out of all the MMPR rangers, Billy has had the most love interests.
  • Lightspeed Rescue is notable for being the first series to use the practice of all of the Rangers wearing the same set of civilian clothes in their unmorphed forms in every episode. This trend would continue appear in Time Force, Wild Force, and RPM.
  • In Space is the first season where the rangers wear uniforms besides civilian clothes. The other seasons to have uniforms are Time Force (with the exception of Wes), Ninja Storm, Space Patrol Delta, Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury, and Samurai.
  • Lightspeed Rescue and RPM they wore similar jackets over their civilian clothes.
  • Lightspeed Rescue is the first in the series to feature siblings (Dana and Ryan Mitchell, the Pink and Titanium Lightspeed Rangers respectively) serving as Power Rangers concurrently. This would later be repeated in Ninja Storm with Blake and Hunter Bradley as the Navy and Crimson Thunder Rangers and again in Mystic Force with Madison and Vida Rocca as the Blue and Pink Mystic Rangers. Mike and Leo Corbett may or may not fall under this concept since Mike‘s, as the Magna Defender, status as an actual ranger is debatable. Also Gem and Gemma may not fall under this concept either since it’s never confirmed that they are related. Andros and Karone do not count since they were Rangers under two different teams.
  • Lightspeed Rescue was also the first season to feature the concept of the Power Rangers' identities being public knowledge. This would be repeated in Time Force and Power, S.P.D., Operation Overdrive, and RPM.
  • Lightspeed Rescue was the first series in which there is no mouthplate on Rangers' helmets. This would be repeated later in Mystic Force, Jungle Fury, and RPM.
  • Lost Galaxy was the first season/series to feature a character (not a sentient, self-thinking zord) enlarging and combining with a zord. In this case, the Magna Defender. This would idea would be used again in Mystic Force with the character Korragg the Knight Wolf and the zord Catastros.
  • In PRLG the Magna Defender morpher is a repainted form of the Carrangers morpher.
  • Billy is the longest running Blue Ranger.
  • The Red, Yellow and Blue Rangers are the only color Rangers to appear in every season MM-S.
  • The Time Force megazord is the only megazord that can tranfrom into 2 modes.
  • Time Force was the only season where two rangers both used the word love to say to each other (Wes and Jen).
  • The first Hispanic Ranger is Rocky (DeSantos) from MMPR. He would be followed by Carlos, Danny, Madison, Vida and Antonio. Andrew Gray who will be playing Troy in Megaforce will be  added to the list.
  • It is possible to spot cameras and Mics in the Rangers visors.
  • Jeffery Parazzo (Trent Fernandez) originally auditioned for the role of the Blue Dino Ranger but was thought to fit better as the White Dino Ranger.
  • Jeffery Parazzo (Trent Fernandez) voiced Tommy Oliver/Black Dino Ranger in the episode "Wormhole" (Power Rangers SPD).
  • Tommy Oliver has had the most zords.
  • Fact or not, there seems to be a rift between the fans of the Power Rangers' mythos. Those who enjoy the seasons from Lost Galaxy to Wild Force typically do not like the newer seasons (NS, DT, SPD), and vice versa.
  • The three African-American females who have served as rangers in the past (Aisha, Tanya, and Katie) shared the same color designation (Yellow).
  • Ninja Storm was the first full-length season to feature only one female Ranger. It would be repeated in Dino Thunder and Jungle Fury.
  • The Trans-Armor Cycle was the first vehicle to function as Battlizer armor as well.
  • Zordon never appeared in human form. Although you can see his Japanese counterpart Barza in the episodes Power Ranger Punks when they show Zordon finding the singing squash.
  • The MMPR Green Ranger was the first ever Ranger to have his own shield (armor).
  • Tommy Oliver was the first ever Ranger to have his own set of music themes during PR (MMPR), As The Green Ranger (Go Green Ranger), As The White Ranger (Go White Ranger and White Ranger Tiger Power).
  • In MMPR Tommy was the first ever Evil Ranger to appear in PR. He would be followed by Ryan in Lightspeed Rescue, Blake and Hunter in Ninja Storm and Koragg/ Leanbow in Mystic Force.
  • Generally, during the SPD season, anytime one of the rangers used their genetic power, their color signature would be seen. (Syd's fists flash pink before they transform, Bridge's psychic scan is green, Sky's force fields are blue, Z's eyes flash yellow, and I think whatever Jack's passing through will shine a bit red as he goes through...although I'm not sure).
  • Three triplets, Ted Tom and Tim DiFillipo, played Trey of Triforia whenever he split.
  • The MMPR White Ranger was the first Ranger to have a talking weapon and also the first ever Ranger to have his own zord which can go into two modes.
  • Only two Rangers in history have ever worn dreadlocks. The first, of course, was Zack, the Black Mastodon Ranger from MMPR, and the second was Jack, the Red B-Squad Ranger from PR:SPD. (funnily enough, their names rhyme)
  • Power Rangers Turbo was the first ever season to base their zords on vehicles (theme), hence the title "Turbo". The other seasons to feature vehicles as zords are Lightspeed Rescue, Space Patrol Delta and Operation Overdrive.
  • There has yet to be a Red Ranger of Asian decent.
  • All power rangers logos have the lightning bolt.
  • Tommy Oliver has a brother, which we see in PR Zeo.
  • Udonna is the only female PR mentor who is also a ranger.
  • It has been hard to find a legitimate female 'Sixth Ranger'. Candidates for possible 6R status are discredited as 'Novelty Rangers' (in the vein of the Blue Centurion and the Phantom Ranger) due to the length of time they were in action or the evaluative impact they had on their individual seasons. Kat as the Kat Ranger, The Nova Ranger, and Udonna as the White Mystic Force Ranger, though each exhibited qualities of a great 6R, are not considered Sixth Rangers due to the brevity of time each was seen. The Kat Ranger, after all, was a one-time deal in SPD. Nova was only present for the finale of SPD. Udonna's snow staff was stolen at the beginning of Mystic Force, and regained it in the last four (I think) episodes. That streak was broken by Li Ming Hu who played Gemma in RPM.
  • Udonna is the first Ranger to have the power of Snow.
  • Australian actor Firass Dirani, who portrays Nick in Mystic Force, is the first person of known Middle Eastern decent to play the role of a Ranger and to lead a team.
  • Black and Green seem to be interchangeable color designations within the Ranger mythos, which is somewhat likened to the exchangeable nature of the sexes of the Yellow and Blue Rangers. Except the original MMPR team, there has not yet been another group to have two Rangers serve as both Green and Black.
  • There has never been a female Green Ranger…nor Black Ranger, for that matter.
  • Jungle Fury is the first season to have a Violet/Purple Ranger. There is also a debate as to whether Knight Wolf in Mystic Force is a ranger so depending on where you fall Koragg is actually the first Violet/Purple Ranger.
  • Gold Ranger (Trey/Jason, Gem), Silver Ranger (Zhane, Gemma), Titanium Ranger, and Mercury Ranger are the only 7 rangers to be based from elements.
  • Dino Thunder was the first series to not have a 6th ranger.
  • Since the inception of Lost Galaxy, every successive season of Power Rangers has had a new story, Rangers, Villains, and location. This strangely contradicts with the original series, in which Zordon spoke of the exclusivity and rarity of Rangers. Now, this original thought is all but forgotten, as every new team has new powers and Zords at their disposal. Not only that, but it has become a Ranger Tradition to have the Team-Up Episode, a concept the original series initially said could never happen. This series of plot holes has never been satisfactorily explained.
  • Clare is known as the Shining Moon Warrior.
  • Mystic Force Rangers are the first to use the phrase 'Check Mate' after defeating an enemy.
  • Wild Force holds the record for the most Zords.
  • Power Rangers will have 20 Incarnations over 20 years and 2 movies.
  • Mighty Morphing Alien Rangers was the only season without mentioning the actual rangers in the cast. It does mention the regular rangers and their kid versions but not the Alien Rangers themselves.
  • There was only one American zord, though some people prefer to call it just 'transport', and that's Serpentera, also the only CG-d American zord.
  • "Forever Red" was the episode which had the most plot holes ever in PR. (debatable=opinion)
  • Every time the monster patiently waits till the Megazord combining is complete and only then begins to react...
  • Lord Zedd is the first all-American villain. There would be all-American villains in seasons to follow. Divatox, Astronema, Scorpius, Trakeena, Furio, Ransik, Master Org, Lothor, Mesogog, Elsa, Emperor Gruumm, Leelee, Flurious, Miratrix and Tenaya.
  • PR never had a team-up with a cartoon (while there was one in Abaranger.)
  • The only season to have three people being a Red Ranger at some time was S.P.D.
  • There has never been a bronze ranger (being that there was a silver and gold)
  • All destroyed monsters in Lightspeed Rescue were sent to the Shadow World.
  • In the history of Power Rangers, female Rangers have always been denied individual power-ups or transport. The most famous of Power Ranger power-ups is perhaps the Battlizer, a special mode which comes with various aesthetic changes, as well as a serious upgrade on offensive and defensive weapons. Traditionally, this special mode is usually set aside for the Red Ranger, to be awarded later on in the season which stands as a symbol to the inherent strength and leadership of the Ranger who dons said color. However, there have been instances in the past were other color designations received upgrades and individual tools. For instance, both the Green and Blue Lightspeed Rescue Rangers were given their own Armor Modes. In newer seasons, most male Rangers have their own motorbikes or weapon modes. In Dino Thunder, Ethan (the Blue Tricera Ranger) got his own flying motorcycle. In other words, if the whole team doesn't get it, the girl rangers don't get it.
  • There have been several instances of team power-ups in Power Rangers history. The first is the metallic armor the Rangers used to battle Master Vile's suped-up Tengas. The other team power-ups are the Lights of Orion, Super Dino Mode, S.W.A.T. Mode, Legendary Warrior Mode, Jungle Master Mode and Super Mode.
  • Kendrix Morgan, the Lost Galaxy Pink Ranger, is notable in the Ranger Mythos for several things. For one, she was the first female Ranger to ever be shown wearing eye-glasses on a constant basis. She was also the first female Ranger to exhibit a certain amount of intelligence and ingenuity (a la Billy of MMPR)... Of course, that isn't to say that no other female Ranger in the past has been intelligent, but Kendrix was the first to embrace that bookish demeanor. Another, and possibly most important, note about Kendrix is that she was the first member of a core Ranger group to sacrifice herself (i.e. die, or in the PRU "be destroyed") in order to save others. Of course, this probably was mostly because the actress who portrayed her was suffering from Leukemia, but it is still a milestone none the less. Of course, later she would be resurrected (also a first)...
  • Tommy and Cam are the only two who were green sixth rangers.
  • Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, Jungle Fury and RPM are the only series in which the first rangers are red, blue and yellow only.
  • Kira, Tori and Lily were the only girls in their respective teams.
  • There has never been a Ranger Team with more than two females. Likewise, there has never been a Ranger Team that didn't have at least one female. Traditionally, two female Rangers (always pink and yellow) were on the team. This began to change with Power Rangers: Wild Force, with the introduction of a member of the regular core-team who was a female White Ranger. The concept of two females on the team was completely thrown out of the window for the following two seasons, Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder. (MF is not said to count because Udonna did not have her power all-season)
  • Ninja Storm is the first season to deviate completely from the usual Ranger set up of five+one. This season introduced the three+two+one approach to Ranger reveals. The following season, Dino Thunder, altered this configuration into the three+one+one formula.
  • Rangers don't usually make illusions to their color designations outside of their morphing calls and intro lines (although villains often make at least one scathing comment about their color-coded adversaries), but there have been exceptions. One such incident occurred in Ninja Storm, during the introduction of the Thunder Rangers, Hunter and Blake. When Tori asks who they (the three Wind Rangers) should fight, seeing as their enemies, the Thunder Rangers, where engaged in battle against a group of Kelzaks, Shane replies: "Any one who isn't wearing a primary color". Another occurred in the following season where, upon re-gaining Ranger powers as the Black Brachio Ranger, Tommy makes the comment: "Oh man, I have to go shopping...I don't have nearly enough black clothes in my closet." This is the first time that the long-running tradition of Ranger's dressing in street clothes that mirrored their Ranger color designation was ever talked about within the show.
  • The Storm Megazord of Ninja Storm and the Thundersaurus Megazord of Dino Thunder are the only two complete Megazords in Power Rangers history to be comprised of only three individual zords each. Of course, with the addition of more Rangers and new powers, additional/auxiliary zords could be added to the core three.
  • Lightspeed Rescue was the first season not to begin with a multi-part season opening (multiple episodes of the same name) since the first season of MMPR.
  • The third season of MMPR was the first time a season has ended with a multi-part closing.
  • Season 2 and 3 of MMPR tie for having the most multi-part episodes with 9 multi-part episodes each. (LR having the least with only 3)
  • In Space marks the first time where a green ranger is not apart of the team. (Tommy- MMPR, Adam- Zeo, Adam/Carlos-Turbo)
  • The Wild West Rangers were the first Ranger team to be aided by a Ranger from the future.
  • The Wild West Rangers were the first Ranger team to not have their own Pink Ranger, rather a Pink Ranger from a different squad.
  • The Wild West Rangers were the first team to be based entirely on ancestors.
  • The Wild West Rangers were the first team to originally have a set of four rangers, not five (as Kimberly was from a different squad.)
  • Vida, the Pink Mystic Ranger of Power Rangers: Mystic Force, is the first Ranger in Power Rangers history to admit that they do not like the color which they assume.
  • Aisha Campbell's Yellow Bear Zord from the second half of MMPR is the first to be based on that animal. There wouldn’t be another one until the Black Bear and Polar Bear Zords in Wild Force.
  • Power Rangers: Turbo is unique in the fact that, to date, it is the only Power Rangers season to debut in an actual theatrically released film. The film introduces the main characters, villains, etc., etc. These concepts are then expanded upon in the series. This is rather unlike the first full-length, theatrical release, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie, where Ivan Ooze was introduced, never to be mentioned again in the mythos. He used the Tengu Warriors to hunt the Rangers (he also used gross, purple bugger things, which I don’t remember what were called). In the series, the Tengu Warriors became the Tanga Warriors and were a gift from Rita’s brother, Rito. The movie also featured a pig-themed henchmen which is never mentioned nor seen in the series regular. Also, the armor-style of the Ranger’s costumes in the movie was never seen again in the mythos. It is unsure why.
  • The company that did the first 10 power rangers (Saban) are also known for beetleborgs, masked rider and VR troopers that are also from Japan
  • Vida and Madison are the only blood siblings to be in the show from the start.
  • Nick is the only ranger to have both parents as power rangers (Lienbow's status as a ranger is debated)
  • Danny Delgado, Black Wild Force ranger and Elizabeth ‘Z’ Delgado Yellow SPD ranger are the only rangers to share a last name without being related or in the same season.
  • Sky Tate's father (in morph) looks like the Time Force Red Ranger
  • John Tui is the only actor to play two different characters that become rangers Doggie from SPD and Daggeron from Mystic force.
  • Cameron Watanabe is the only ranger to make an artificial intelligence of himself to become both ranger and technical adviser in PRNS.
  • Grant McFarland is the only actor to portray both Villain and Mentor in the same season PRNS (Lothor, Kiya Watanabe / Sensei Kanoi Watanabe, Sensei Guinea Pig)
  • The actress playing Clare in PRMR also plays Niella Clare's mother
  • Mighty Morphin is the only season to last for three years.
  • Mighty Morphin is also the only season not to have the words 'Power Rangers' first
  • In most seasons there was an oddball ranger to the group, MMPR - Billy, Turbo - Justin, Time Force - Trip, Ninja Storm - Cam, Dino Thunder - Tommy, SPD - Bridge, Mystic Force - Chip, Operation Overdrive - Tyzonn, Jungle Fury - RJ  and RPM - Ziggy.
  • Tommy Oliver is the longest-serving Power Ranger, as well as the Power Ranger with the largest arsenal available to him.
  • There have only been 4 rangers who have worn glasses on a regular basis, and they all were from different seasons, and were different colors. Billy-Blue, Kendrix- Pink, Danny- Black, and Cam-Green.
  • Vida is the only ranger to dye her hair, every other ranger with different color hair was born with it.
  • Cole, Nick, Andros, Cam, Tommy, Trent, and Dillion are related to any of the enemies or had known them before they became rangers.
  • Tommy has defeated the most foot soldiers (i.e.: putties, tengas, cogs ect.)
  • Mystic Force is the first series to have a rap type theme song.
  • During the S.P.D. season, Sky uses Jack’s morpher to transform into the S.P.D. B-Squad Red Ranger. This is the first instance in Power Rangers history where a Ranger has used another Ranger’s morpher to transform into that color Ranger. It’s also the first time a Ranger has been ‘promoted’ to a new color.
  • The Mystic Lion, half of the Mystic Force Manticore Megazord, is the first to be comprised of four separate individuals who transform (rather than link up to form) into a Zord.
  • Saba has been the only talking weapon.
  • SPD is the only season to have two active ranger teams, from the same head quarters.
  • Charlie from SPD A-squad was the only female red ranger.
  • No matter how big they get, no one notices the rangers morphers.
  • No one notices that there is a group of teens that always where the same color everyday.
  • To my knowledge only DT and MF have made comments on the rangers odd behavior. DT "A jock, a geek, and an Avril wannabe, when have you ever seen them together?" MF "Where do you go when you run off?" Also Toby rolled his eyes when the morphers went off.

  • Up until Time Force, evil in the Rangers' universe was clearly defined, as different as black and white. Some would say Astronema/Karone could be exception to this, but we must remember she was brainwashed into being evil (sort of like Tommy in PR:Z). Time Force introduced the concept of the 'monster of the week' being a criminal instead of an out-and-out villain. In fact, the series ends with the main villains becoming good. This idea wouldn't be repeated until S.P.D.
  • S.P.D. featured the first anthropomorphic Ranger in Ranger History. The loveable big blue dog himself, Commander Anubis "Doggie" Cruger: the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger.
  • In the episode "Forever Red" there is a scene where Leo powers down, but then in the scene after that, Leo is back in ranger form without morphing.

  • In the nineteen years the Rangers have been on television, any time a monster grows and the Rangers take to their Zords and begin fighting, almost always a building is knocked down...but, miraculously, they all seem to be evacuated.
  • Though it is unknown exactly why (except for budget reasons), but the Rangers generally either have their fights in industrial areas, empty plazas, rock quarries, deserted forest clearings...typically places where other people aren't very likely to show up.
  • If you look really close, any time a monster grows to Megazord height, the animation used to show the transformation is usually stock footage saved from the first time a monster grows in that season. Just watch, you'll see what I mean.
  • Rocky is the only Ranger to date to end his Ranger career due to an injury (Kendrix doesn't count, as she did become a Ranger again in Trakeena's Revenge).

  • Among the battlizers, there are those given to the Red Ranger (PRIS, PRLR, PRNS and PRSPD, PROO), those gained by others (PRLG, PRWF) and those gained by the Red Ranger (PRTF, PRDT and PRMF).
  • Operation Overdrive is the last season to feature a battlizer.
  • Every season since PRIS (excluding PRLG, PRSPD, PRS) had a bad guy turn to the good side.
  • For the most part, all 'sixth rangers' have all started off opposing the Rangers. I use the quotes because not every team ended up with six. Some had more, some had less...MMPR-Tommy, LR-Ryan, TF-Eric, WF-Merrick (who was Zen-Aku at the time), NS- Blake and Hunter, DT- Trent, MF-Korragg/Lienbow, OO-Tyzonn.

  • Tommy has said "It's Morphin time" the most out of any ranger.

Other aliens have been Rangers before (the Aquatarian Rangers, Trey of Triforia, Andros, Karone, Maya..), but all of them have been humanoid in nature (even the Aquatarian Rangers, whose heads were the biggest difference between them and earthlings): Doggie is the first (and probably the last and only) dog-like Ranger.
